Samoan Driver's License

Hi,

can someone please explain the procedure to obtain a Samoan driver's license?

Where do we need to go?
How much does it cost and what do we need to take?
Can the rental car place do it for us?

Are they open on Saturdays? We arrive very early Sat, and ideally don't want to have to wait until Monday to be able to use the car.

-Transport Control Board / Ministry of Transport on Beach Road, Apia

How much does it cost
-12 Tala for a one month licence;

and what do we need to take?
-passport & your current driver's licence (you will retain your regular licence during your stay - no need to deposit it)

Can the rental car place do it for us?
-Blue Pacific will, I guess others too

Are they open on Saturdays?
-no. Monday to Friday only. Still, the rental car company can organize it beforehand and you just sign it at the airport. No problem.

We'll be renting through Holiday Rentals, I'll ask them. Would be great if they could get our licenses organised in advance, so that we can start using the car on Saturday.
