Savaii Lagoon Resort Vaiala Beach in Apia Fales for old people

(sorry if this is duplicate-i lost the other post!) Has anyone stayed at the Savaii Lagoon Resort? Individual bungalows on the beach. it's not far from the Vaisala. I haven't been to savaii in 20 years (i'm 58 F and traveling w/ spry 70 yr old).

The Vaiala looks like i am just repeating the Vaisala, but it's another name and it is on Upolo - outskirts of Apia. I stayed at Seaside Inn when i was there before, but i was on my own. these are the same price but actual private bungalows.
If i'm staying in bungalows do i need to be as paranoid (careful) w/ my belongings as if i were staying in a beach fale? are things much worse now than 2 decades ago?

uhoh - i'm going to get chastised for asking too many questions! The theft issue has me thinking a beach fale for 2 nights is going to be more trouble than it's worth. but i live to frolic in the water. i'm real friendly, but i love privacy. and i'm cheap. places w/ privacy seem awfully pricey.
whoever answers this - you're a prince(ss).

we'll be there in june this year. also going to cairns where i've never been if anyone has a comment on that.

Don't get mislead by some posts here - the theft problem is a lot smaller than it was 20 years ago. Read the many more posts from people too who had no problems at all. However definitely use common sense and don't be less careful than you would be elsewhere.

Vaiala Beach is a very nice place and safer than ordinary beach fales as well (not a reason to be all careless though). And certainly a much better place to stay than the Seaside Inn.

The Savaii Lagoon Resort is in Fagamalo, which is quite a distance away from Vaisala (if we mean the same). Good accomodation and a real nice beach there in Fagamalo.

Have never had a problem with theft in Samoa.
They do keep a .303 rifle in the office for security at Vaiala Beach Cottages so not very likely to have a problem there.
The staff is also from the local village so that helps as well.
