Seki a Samoa!

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa

Just returned from my trip to Samoa-had the BESTEST time EVER!!

We stayed at Aggie Greys Beach Resort, the staff were attentive, polite and very talkative! The service was amazING! We had lunch at Bistro Tatau-got to try their risotto! Paddles was an experience haha...We also went to watch the Samoa v Romania rugby match which was fun, although the staring freaked me out a bit=)
The JL Stevenson trek was the most memorable, however all in all Samoa is a place i'll definitely go back to.

Now its only a matter of getting my natural colour back! Happy travelling!

Glad you had fun....Why were people staring? Why was Paddles an experience?

Did you get a chance to experience the real Samoa? I found that the risotto at the market is even better!

Well...I'm a half caste tongan and I was with a bunch of my palagi (white) girlfriends-they were probably thinking why a local girl would be hanging around them hehe... hence the staring.

I went to Savaii and stayed with a nice family there, We went to their plantation fields during the day, fed the chickens and pigs, made palusami and I even got a tatoo! Paddles was good, spent A$70 on a drink which I had no idea what it contained, but nice anyway. Made a few new male friends too (always good!)

I think my favourite place was the markets. I spent an entire day there just walking around and hanging out with the locals. I had some palusami and breadfruit at the food market-they make it alot nicer then the tongans =)
