Sunset View Fales on Manano Island

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa

We really want to stay at Sunset View Fales but we can't find the contact number or email for these Fales the owner is Leota Please help - has anyone stayed there before? How do we book a fale? they offer to come and pick up from wharf but how do we get in touch with them??

Should we spend 2 nights on Manano Island or one night and one night in Apia??? anything to do/see in Apia on a Sunday anyway?

Thanks
Tina

I found these numbers Ph: (685) 45640 Fax: (685) 45640 or you can book through

Samoans are very religious so there is not a lot to do on a Sunday. I am not a fan of Apia so would not recommend it. I did spend a Sunday there on my first trip and I did the Green Turtle bus trip around the island as it was about the only thing to do other than go to church.

of course there is much to to in Apia even on Sunday, in particular if you havent been there before. Just stroll around, u can go and see some churches to attend a service or only from outside (Mormon temple and other on Main beach road), snorkel in Palolo Deep Reserve and see other attractions and monuments.

We were in Samoa in May/June and had a wonderful time at Sunset View fales on Manono Island - would recommend it very highly indeed. Leota is a talkative, generous man, and his family are excellent hosts.

Enjoy yourself!

I went to Sunset View Fales back in Jan 08 and loved it. Leota and Sau and their family/friends are the kind of people you just want to do something for, so I created a website for them - which I’ve just updated post-tsunami.

Check it out [www.samoasunsetview.com] These contact details are up to date. Leota is just using his mobile now +685 7596240 but the old number gets redirected to this one.

They are back and rebuilt and ready for business after the tsunami. The big fale up on high ground were untouched and they have rebuilt the communal areas and the small fale above the wave line - set back into the hill a little, but it is still close to the water. It would be great to encourage business back to Manono for them.
