Does anybody know what beaches Survivor was filmed on?
I heard either Sa'anapu Beach or Return To Paradise Beach. | 1
@bradd Do you mean the upcoming season?... or one from the past seasons? | 2
any season I guess.... seen them all and they all look gorgeous on TV.... would love to visit them | 3
The only location I've set foot upon is is where they filmed Survivor Season 13, Cook Islands. They shot the tribe camps and challenges in the southern end of the lagoon and several motu at Aitutaki. They also visited the islands of Aitu and Mitiaro for rewards scenes. The freshwater grotto on the island of Mitiro is really a special place. My wife and I had it ll to ourselves to cool off in just about every day when we were there for a week in 2009. I have pics of it up on Google World. We've also been to Aitu before and after Survivor was filmed there. It is kind of fun to see the place first-hand. One thing that was surely staged was the initial landing on Aitutaki by the survivors. The series showed them approaching on bamboo rafts from the ocean side of the reef. That didn't happen. The would have been ripped to shreds. They must have dumped them in, filmed them paddling toward the motu, then transported them inside the reef and dropped them off again. Then they paddled ashore the the motu to set up camp. The Aitutaki Lagoon motu they were on included One Foot, Akiama, Honeymoon and Mahogany (don't know the Maroi name for Mahogany). They are all more beautiful in person than on the show! | 4
I don't think CBS has really identified the location of the next SURVIVOR? Maybe back in Samoa? | 5
Moturakau = islet of wood is perhaps the name that H200h is referring to on Aitutaki, where one of the Survivor camps was located. Rapota islet was another motu used in Survivor Cook Islands. For Samoa, one of the areas apparently used in the series is Fagaiofu Bay, near the village of Faleatai on Upolo. A large area of land has now become the site for a new resort (not yet opened) called Survivor Resort. Lefaga Bay ("Return to Paradise" beach) is also reputed to have been included in one of the the Survivor series filmed on Samoa. | 6
Looking at the pics etc., SURVIVOR back in Samoa for the 4th time? Wouldn't be surprised if SURVIVOR stays there .... | 7
Dunno about Samoa, but here's a dozen other locations - http://find.mapmuse.com/interest/survivor | 8
I think they made Jeff a chief last year, not sure if it was a"talking chief" or "high chief" so maybe SURVIVOR has found a home in Samoa? | 9
