| haydenwatson10:43 UTC09 Jun 2007 | Hi All, My Partner and I are going to Samoa for a couple of weeks next month. I have been to Samoa before (10 yrs ago) and don't remember the logistics of it being the age of 12.
From reading the other posts it sounds like alot has changed.
We wish to do our travels rather cheaply. It would great if we could get some ideas on a itinerary and cheap accommodation. From looking around the idea of beach fales sounds terrific.
We wish to travel both Upolu and Savii. Lalomanu sounds like a must see. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Hayden

To answer one of your comments... Yes Samoa is rapidly changing. If you were here 10 years ago, you won't know the place. I've been coming for 5 years and the transformation I have witnessed in that time is almost jaw-dropping.
Look here first...Welcome to Samoa. Here they give details of attractions, accommodations and places to eat. You can have a look at all the various beach fales as I think they are listed there seperately from other accommodation. We have no idea what your interests are, activity level is, food you like, etc. Some people come here and never leave the beach or their fale... Others go hard... Biking, hiking, mountaineering etc. (And the enthusiasm often wears thin when they realize the sapping heat and humidity can make these activities uncomfortable!)
Yes, stay at Lalomanu beach. Since you have several weeks, you must spend time on Savai'i. There are many places there to stay as well. You may wish to spend a day or two in Apia when you arrive... There are things to see here not to be missed like Robert Lewis Stephenson museum, Palolo Deep for snorkelling, Samoa Museum, markets and the Sliding rock.
There are plenty of places to stay in Apia ranging from backpackers to 4 star accommodation... Again, the Samoa Visitor Bureau website will help you decide.
The Samoa Visitor Bureau also has a Visitor's centre in downtown Apia. They are extremely helpful here in helping you plan your vacation.
You're Welcome.
