Travelling Samoa with a 7 month old babyCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa
Hi, I was in Samoa close to 12 years ago and loved it. So i know how it works to a certain degree :) Ive always wanted to come back but now I'm doing it with a 7 month old girl :) We will be arriving mid April and staying through easter. Im open to travelling to either Upon, Savaii or the island in between (sorry - forgot its name) I personally don't really see the point coming to Samoa to stay in a hotel as the whole Fale situation is amazing but as i have a baby that is now crawling i have a few requirements. Can anyone recommend any fales that have power/a fan? And as she is crawling a barrier of some sort would be good also ;) So the possibility of her crawling off the edge is minimised. Other things like being able to use kitchens etc so we can boil water to sterilise I'm not too worries about as I'm sure the locals won't mind. Minimal mosquitos ideal also Also - Proximity of fales might be an issue? Don't want to cause hassle with a crying baby ;) Ive seen a few baby questions on the Forums but it seems the Fale situation is Samoa changes quite often. Basically baby safety is the concern.... And the parents love fresh seafood and slow cooked meat ;) Along with views of the water. I do intend on spending 2 or 3 nights somewhere fancy (hotel wise) but again i don't want to be in some locked in souless room.... Any info on the above appreciated. Fa'a Samoa Ed :)
My suggestion would be to either go to Upolu or Savaii but not one. Moving around Samoa with a small child would not be that fun. My suggestion would be to go to the South Coast and find a fale provider and just enjoy the place. I used to live in Samoa so if you need more information, let me know. | 1
