West Samoa spending 4 days in Feb

I have planned four days in Weat Samoa four day's in New Zealand and Seventeen days all in Feburary 2010. Idea's needed for Apia (West Samoa) and Auckland (New Zealand). ?

In Samoa, head to the southern coast of Upolu, such as around Lalomanu. Don't stay around Apia for more than a day.

How much do you want to spend? If you are "going native" try the trip out to Manono. Native luxury would place you at Sinalei, Aggies resort or Coconuts. At least in Manono the reef is in pretty good shape and the boat ride over and back gets you in the "adventurer" mode. Try a day/night in Pago Pago and hike the rainforest trails. You will be surprised. Rooms from US $35 to $ 150. Great nightlife on Tutuila .Take your pick.

Depends on yr budget but if you're watching your pennies and want a good time, try Maninoa beach fales inbetween Sinele Resort and Coconuts. We stayed at both when we were doing the resorts and other beach fales. Lupe's bar & restaurant serves the best food at great prices ($18Tala/abt $7.50Aus for fresh and huge portion of tuna sashimi). They also have beach fales for $50tala per person per night. Can't get cheaper than that.
Samoana at Salamumu (also on the south coast) is great too. More midmarket but not resorty. Built by Aussies, run by kiwis, great food and really good fun crowd.
Taufua Beach fales is great too at Lalomanu.

Stayed at Taufua Beach Fales in early 2011, it was terrible. Dirty, noisy, no privacy at all, underequipped, overpriced. Crazy crowded scene, their 'traditional' Fia Fia night means disco beats all night, most of the time no running water in the shared bathrooms, fales below standard ... All of that for NZ$50 per person per night ... We felt ripped off. If you're looking for a relaxing tropical island holiday, stay away from here! There are better beach fales just down the road.
