Constant or partial rain in the Solomons and Marovo now?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Solomon Islands
Hi, Planning to be in the Marovo lagoon in a couple of weeks. From the weather research I've done seems like it is just rain showers constantly in Munda and in the Solomons in general. Can anyone clarify more just how it rains there and the calmness of the water and wind etc obviously are other considerations. Wouldn't be worth a trip there to be rained out. Thanx
I just spent 2 weeks in Honiara and Malaita, and only experienced a couple of showers the whole time. However, 3 days before I arrived, there was torrential rain, and 8 bridges on the North Malaita road were damaged. The wet season usually ends about April, so if you get rain, it will not be all day. Even in the wet season, it usually comes down very heavily in the afternoon, and then goes away. | 1
Hi, it rains most days here (Munda) now but its beautiful! It comes at about 4pm and makes for a lovely cool, clear evening after a hot muggy day... tropical perfection... | 2
