Getting around in the Solomon Islands

Hi all
I'll be in the Solomons for a week next month. Just wondered on people's experiences on getting around the islands via boat vs flight (via www.flysolomons.com) - can anyone recommend what works better from experience?

From my experience visiting Honiara only, I would recommend spending as little time as possible in Honiara.

Boats are usually extremely basic, and apart from the routes from Honiara to Malaita and Gizo, very scarce and irregular.
So unless you have plenty of time and endurance, flying is the better option to most islands.
