I really want to get to Anuta?!

Does anybody have any updated details on how to get to Anuta ?! Or is the bishops boat still really the only way ?!

I am presently in Honiara, most likely until mid April. Spent 3 weeks on Anuta in 1993, very unique experience.
Anuta people still know to sail in a tradionable way. In 2008 or 2009 they good a katamaran sailboat build in Philipins. They are sailing 2-3 times per year to Lata the provincial capital of Temotu Province by this boat.
Lata can be reached by plane from Honiara (SCZ)
On Pigeon Island in the Reef Island lives a second generation white Solomon Islander. I met him last Sunday here in Honiara and enquired how to get to Duff Island. He said he has a 40 HP outboard engine and a suitable boat to Duffs.
He thinks it is possible to get by radio in touch with Anuta and a pickup from Duff Island by the above mentioned Anuta katamaran sailing boat could be arranged.
There are supply ships to go to Temotu outer islands from Honiara from time to time. I need first to enquire which ship is likely to go next and when.

There are ships from Honiara from time to time going to Temotu outer islands. One of Temotu outer Islands is Anuta.
Last Monday left one of these ships. Just recently Temotu Vatud constituency, where Anuta is part of, got its own ship called =Vatud Star=. It remains to be seen how well Vatud Star is working, as usually shipping to Temotu outer islands is uneconomically.
The problem is not to get to Anuta. The problem is to get off Anuta again if you let the ship go. It is than uncertain when you will get off. In any case bring lots of time.
There is a German sailor, who has offered in the past pretty expensive sailing boat excursions from Northern Vanuatu (Luganville) to Tikopia Island and maybe touching Anuta as well. This sailor organised and delivered the
catamaran boat which the Anutans use to go to Lata several times per year.
