MV Pelican schedule/booking/contact

I think I will probably just have to call the MV Pelican office, but thought I would check here first if anyone knows what their schedule is for boats from Gizo to Honiara? Would be looking to book one around 1 Jan.

They generally leave Honiara at 7 am Sunday, returning from Gizo Monday. You should book well in advanceat that time of year, as all the locals will be wanting to get back to town after Christmas holidays.

thanks, that is very useful. Do you reckon I can just call them and pay for tickets over the phone, or is it better to go through a travel agent? (and if so, any recommendations?) I tried contacting a Honiara travel agent but haven't heard back.

i don't think there would be any travel agent who could do it for you. The Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau is a possiblity. Generally, ships are booked direct with the operators.
