tried sending you a priv message but its not working ,, seems ur pretty knowlegable on accom in honiara... lookin for something central & good for value around $50aud per night ,,, wot r a few suggestions.... 10yrs ago i stayed at a place in/near town on the beach , had a resturaunt / bar balcony over the water - bit of an old joint , but do you know of it ?? is it still there >>?? wayne

I think the place you stayed in before was the Raintree cafe and B&B. When I was there last October, I heard that it had been sold, possibly to a Chinese business person, and I am not sure if it is still operating My preferred places to stay are Chester House, and St Agnes, both in Central Honiara and with views of Iron Bottom Sound.
I just got a quote from St Agnes for my next trip, of $275 SBD a night which is about $40AUD. This is for an en suite room with twin beds, and access to shared kitchen and lounge. Chester has cheaper rooms with shared bathrooms.
