Short Visit to Solomon Islands

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Solomon Islands

Hi,

I've arranged a last minute (and very short) trip to Solomon Islands and was wondering what a good itinerary might look like for 5 or 6 days? I'm a solo traveller and would ideally spend a day or two diving, with the rest of the time visiting the islands/hiking/exploring local culture. Is one of Munda/Gizo/Uepi for diving worth it for only a couple of days (by making use of the internal flights) ? Or better to divide my time between say Savo and Malaita Island which are closer to Honiara?

Any thoughts/idea very appreciated!

I was quite disappointed by Gizo and not too impressed by Munda either.
Found Malaita more interesting, but to visit Honiara, Malaita and Savo in 5 days sounds too ambitious to me.

Thanks! May stick to Malaita and forget about diving on this trip (and hopefully come back another time to explore properly).
