hi all, | ||
HI there The Solomons covers a big area - so my experience might not be how it is at whatever destiination you have planned. I've spent quite a few Xmas to mid January times at Uepi, in the western province. I love that time of year, although it is usually a bit more humid than mid year. Often, a later afternoon stom can roll in, bring heavy rain & cooling things down. There is generally less wind (the trade winds have finished). As for temps - depends where you are - my 2 Xmases in Honiara - it was very hot, but then I always find Honiara pretty hot anyway. I'm a diver, and love the flat, glassy seas that time of year | 1
I found one particular December in Honiara almost unbearably hot and humid, as did my local friends I stay with. Because they had trouble coping I wasn't too disappointed with myself for wimping out and barely moving the whole length of my stay. I agree with cbimages; to me Honiara feels hotter and more humid than anywhere else in the islands. | 2
