Dear fellow travellers,
Hi Nedy, I was wondering how you got on searching for budget accommodation on Moorea as I am visiting there for a similar period of time next week and am worrying that I don't have enough money as the accommodation seems so expensive! Any help and tips you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Chris | 1
Hi Chris, | 2 | |
Hi Nedy, Thank you for your response. $70USD is my upper limit for accom per night so hopefully i can find something cheaper so i have a little more money to play with! Out of interest where did you stay and where abouts on the island was it? I have seen a few places on air bnb as well as a few other sights. Hopefully i can try haggle a slightly cheaper rate when i arrive there next week as i'll stay for the whole month! Thank you for all your help. Its hard to find information on French Polynesia unless you are going there on honeymoon with a big wallet! | 3
Hello again, We stayed at Gregory's place, called "Chambre dans résidence privée" on AirBnb which was totally fine (in Polynesia in general accommodation is expensive for quite poor quality). It is located in Hauru, in a private residence very close to the Hotel Tipanier. This side of the island is one of the best for water activities and some 100 meters from there you can find supermarkets and snacks for lunch. BUT in the evening there is no cheap possibility for dinner. This is the reason why, unless you rent a scooter/car for the whole duration, I would recommend you to stay somewhere closer to the airport (in Paraoo or Term'ae). Have fun (Mo'orea is beautiful)! | 4
