Accommodation in Papeete

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tahiti & French Polynesia

Hello

I am looking for accommodation in Papeete - pretty much only for one night when we fly in before we get the ferry to Moorea and then one night on the way back to the airport. We'd like it to be reasonably priced and convenient, but quite nice as well. Nothing too fancy. A guest house would do. Does anyone have any good experiences/recommendations.

Thanks !

I have not stayed there but you could check out The Airport Motel(maybe hotel - I believe they have a web site). It is located across the road from the airport. If that doesn't work, I would suggest you check out the forum at www.tahiti-explorer.com.

This is the airport motel/hotel across street.

Ia Orana,

If you want nice and convenient, my favorite resort is the InterContinental. It's a good way to start your trip in paradise. The other one I recommend is the Sheraton. Their new heavenly beds are by far the best in Papeete. both are about a ten minute ride away. The Airport motel is very simple.

Enjoy!!!

Try the Mandarin Noa Noa. Very clean and comfortable, but nothing fancy (no pool), it is right
downtown and you can walk to the ferry from it, they also have great breakfasts!) It is also a few blocks from the main market. I found it best to contact the hotel directly to make reservations. Don't use any other websites. If you
need anything, buy it on Papeete, they have the best selection.
