Buying a Pearl

Hello togehther,

we are on French Polynesia in Feb 2019

on the following Islands
Tahiti
Morrea
Huahine
Bora Bora
Maupiti

do you have any recommendation to by a black Pearl?
or watching a Pearl farm?

Sorry.....want to help but I do not know too much. I do know that most of pearl farms are on outer islands where water is much cleaner like in the Tuamotu islands....so not Tahiti for a farm. The one I visited was on Taha'a. Lots of places to buy pearls especially Papaete but again I do not know which is the best place.

Maupiti is a gem but as far as I remember I didn't see any shop selling pearls, let alone a pearl farm. AVOID buying pearls in Bora Bora if you don't want to spend a good 30% more than in Tahiti.
The best places to buy them and see a pearl farm are the Tuamotus actually, but you won't go there. Just buy them in Tahiti.
