| pacific_penguin01:18 UTC26 Feb 2008 | Hi, Wanting some advice from anyone who can help please! Will be arriving in Papeete on Good Friday and wondering if the bank/money exchange will be open at the airport. We were also planning to head out to Moorea (by ferry) on the same day but i'm not sure if the le trucks/buses will be running (and how frequently?) from airport to town, if there will be frequent ferries on a Good Friday.. etc. or if everything more or less will just shut down. Will it be better to take a flight to Moorea (although it'd cost more)? Not sure if the buses on Moorea will be running as well.. (the last time we had to wait a couple of hours at the ferry terminal) Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
ciao

| azraf23:58 UTC06 Mar 2008 | On holidays, the ferry schedule is limited, there are few departures. The airplanes fly more frequently on holidays, try Air Moorea website. If the money exchange is not open at the airport, you could use the ATM's within walking distance of the ferry to Moorea, in downtown Papeete. Also, everything is closed on holidays. I was there for 12 days and they had 2 holidays during the duration. I hope you want to relax because there is nothing to do! You can get something to eat, but you must hunt. Perhaps the resorts have more flexible eating times. Also, make sure to eat breakfast and lunch during the alloted times, especially if you are in downtown Papeete. There is no selection of food for dinner till 7 p.m. Little shopping on holidays.

I did manage to get the Aremiti ferry timetable for Easter! Apparently the ferries are running and so will public transportation, although not as frequent understandably...
Oh well.. it's all part of the fun of travelling - sure am looking forward to the trip! THANKS again all!
