End of the rainy season?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tahiti & French Polynesia

I am planning to go to Tahiti for a week between Feb 26-March 3. I read it will be the end of the rainy season then. I know it is hard to know, with climate change and everything, but what's usually the end of this season like? sunny skies with mad downpours and sun again? constantly cloudy? still enjoyable?

It won't be the end of the rainy season. Rainy season goes to end of April. Occasional downpours, then some sun, etc etc. You'll still enjoy it.

It'll still be 25-30c every day. I've taken a bar of soap out on the back deck and showered in those downpours and enjoyed it immensely!

In a similar vein---we had a bunch of guests staying one week (at my place in the Cooks) when it kept raining for an hour, then sunny for an hour, then rainy for an hour etc. By the third day they all decided that whenever it started raining, instead of heading into their cottages from their sunloungers, they all just jumped into the pool (or lagoon)! "Swimmin' in the rain" is almost as much fun as "Singin' in the rain", I guess!
