Ferry from Papetee to Bora Bora

Hi! My girlfriend and I are travelling to Polynesia in may. We would like to take a boat or a ferry from Papetee to Bora Bora. Is that at all possible, or do we have to take a plane? Has anyone here any experience taking a boat to Bora Bora? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:)

Just in case it could be someway useful for you, the web of the port of Papeete has info about inter-islands transport but I don't know if it's updated and I can't provide you any other info about it (e.g.: if passengers are allowed or it's cargo only)... you could use it as a base to make some research by your own though.
