Fishing (on somewhat of a budget) in French Polynesia

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tahiti & French Polynesia

Hi all,
Travelling to French Polynesia for four weeks in October for my honeymoon and am hoping to surprise my fiancé with a half or full day of fishing. He's an avid fly fisher but I think would also be okay with deep-sea fishing as long as there's some sport in it. We'll be spending time on: Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Raiatea/Tahaa, Rangiroa, & Fakarava. Since we're going for a month and are already spending a small fortune, I was hoping someone would have suggestions for where the best fishing is (especially fly fishing, bone fishing, or anything fun), specifically for fishing on a budget - I'm well aware that "budget" in FP means relatively expensive for most places, but we're from an isolated area of Canada so we're used to inflated prices :) Thanks!
