Getting around the islands

Traveling to Polynesia in October. Wanting to find cheapest airfares Tahiti - Rangiroa - Huahine - Moorea. Also interested in finding opportunities for taking the cargo ships (night travel) from Tahiti - Huahine and back. Any one have current info on air travel and cargo travel that could be of use (emails, schedules, fares)?

You can check out flights on the Air Tahiti web site and get prices for the different routes. They also offer discounts with their passes that allow travel to several different islands - that might work out cheaper for you. I don't have any info on boats but could suggest you check out the forum at www.tahiti-explorer.com - there are some locals there who may have the latest on cargo ships.

Cargo boat schedules are available on the Tahiti Tourisme site as well as my blog (linked below).

Airfares are cheaper on Air Tahiti if you purchase your tickets there.

I bought an airpass after I arrived, didn't go to Rangiroa though. I was told it is harder to take the freighter now for non residents.
