Hi everyone

My mum now over her 50s always told that she couldn't pass away before going over to BoraBora.. So I've decided to take her there, also with a fief of mine, next august. I'm already checking things with a few travel agents but I wanted a more honest opinion so to speak. I wanted you thoughts on:

  • we are going to stay at thalasso for four to five nights

  • we are also being suggested to stay at Moorea at the Hilton or Legends for three nights

  • we are going to in the first week of august

  • we are not divers and we are also amateur snorkelers

And I'm on a dilemma around the following after reading so many opinions:

1) is Moorea that amazing that is a must visit or could you replace it by Tahaa and Huahine easily...? I've heard so many good things about these two islands and Moorea being busy... If you agree would you go for both of these two besides BoraBora?

2) we just love flat sea, idealic sceneries - do these islands get a lot of wind compromising the transparency of the water?

3) due to budget do you think that doing london to LA in economic, LA to Tahiti in business, Tahiti to LA in business and then LA to London in premium would e comfortable enough? I had a terrible time going to Thailand in economic...

4) 10 nights would enough? 4 nights at bora bora and then two other islands, 3 nights each?

So many thanks in advance for guiding me through

Nuno

1) For us, Bora Bora and Huahine were our favorites - Moorea not so much - Tahaa we did not visit. There is some similarity between BB and Moorea but we felt Moorea was more touristy. Huahine is a lot less developed and so was more like what we thought the islands were in the past.

2) We were there in late August and ran into a spate of cool, windy weather - it is their winter time. I can suggest you check out wunderground.com for information on the weather in past years - you can pick a time period to check and it should give you the exact weather(sometimes hourly) for your time period. By checking back a number of years you should get a good idea of the weather patterns for your time frame.

3) Being a budget traveler I only know economy so can't help with this question.

4) 10 nights with 4 in BB and 3 in the other 2 would be fine - I would go for 5 in BB and 5 in Huahine - we did 3 on each island and would have liked more time to really appreciate them - we spent more time in travel between the islands than we realized we would.

Hope this helps - enjoy!!
