Huahine?

Hello,
My husband and I are planning on going to Tahiti end of Nov. for about a week. We are on a budget and have been looking at Huahine.
Is this a good spot for snorkeling?
I have been trying to figure out when the ferries get here and what days as this will have a huge impact on decisions since the airfare over priced.
Can anyone confirm that the lonely planet's Monday, Friday from 7am is correct?
Are there any other options?

The ferry is gone. It fled in the middle of the night in early July. Reports had it heading to New Caledonia or Fiji.

There still is a cargo boat going from Tahiti to Huahine and on to Bora Bora.
