Is Bora Bora a must see ?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tahiti & French Polynesia

hello

We will spend a few days in Moorea and I wonder, if we only go once to Tahiti in our life, if Bora Bora is a place we absolutely have to see for any reason.

Thanks for your advice marcoleum

Yes.

If you were only to go once to France would you see Paris?

When I got off the plane I almost wept at the beauty I beheld.

The colors of the lagoon are incredible. The water is different colors that change for no apparent reason. You can actually see a line in the water where the color changes from light to dark blue. It's just incredible, especially with the mountain as a backdrop.

Shame to travel that far and not see Bora Bora. The lagoon is the reason people go! The water is incredible there! A gorgeous spot for a relaxing romantic stay.
The views of Mt Otemanu are stunning! This is an unforgettable destination.

Bora Bora is one of the most beautiful sights on earth. It'd be worth it if even if you left an arm there, IMHO.

Bora Bora is not to be missed, although I like the ruggedness of Moorea.

Bora Bora can easily be missed if you like quiet secluded beaches and polynesian culture. There are many better islands if your idea of fun is not concrete hotels and souvenir shops. Read the LP FP and you will find what you are looking for.

It is still one of the most physically beautiful places I've ever seen. And there are places for seclusion if you walk a bit.

Actually the only "concrete hotel" on Bora Bora would be the hillside oceanview rooms of the Maitai. Pretty much everything else is thatch huts.
