Fluffyandsilvia are going to FP next May for 3 weeks. We are planning: Tahiti 1 night Any comments? Too many nights anywhere? We were not sure between Maupiti or maybe Huahine or Raiatea instead. Which is the most beautiful? Prices don't seem to vary much from what we've seen. Our budget will be as budget as possible apart from a 1 night splurge in Bora Bora. We might do 1 or 2 dives in Rangiroa or Tikehau but diving won't be the main focus of the trip. Thanks.
Sounds pretty good. But you may want to add an extra day or two at the end back on Tahiti, to make sure you are there when your flight leaves, in case there is bad weather and flights from Tikehau etc. might be delayed or canceled. also, the far side of the island is not bad, and it's worth a day wandering around PPT . | 1
I'm not a fan of Rangiroa (not a diver though). It's a dirty island, it offers nothing of what you traveled to French Polynesia for scenery wise (but the Blue Lagoon, visited via an excursion is incredibly beautiful.) Tikehau is a great choice, there are direct flights from Bora Bora on certain days of the week. I would council on more nights per island vs. less. French Polynesia is not about seeing the sights but having the experiences, finding the best snorkeling spot, the most beautiful view point. It's about walking, hiking, kayaking, swimming, exploring. | 2
Looks like a great trip, You might want to leave Moorea for last in case of problems with flights, its easy to get from Moorea back to Papeete. I didn't go to Maupiti, but everyone I met on my last trip loved it. Huahine and Raitea were nice. Bora Bora, beautiful but crowded. | 3
