Le Maitai vs. Sofitel Beach Resort Bora Bora

Have now decided to go to Bora Bora and not Moorea. For roughly the same price we can get a beach bungalow at Le Maitai or a Deluxe Garden Bungalow at Sofitel Beach Bungalow in Bora Bora. Which is the better option? Main aim is to lie on the beach and relax and have some restaurant/food options nearby to choose between. We would like to be able to chat to other people at the bar as well. Thanks

Just realised I said Sofitel Beach Bungalow in Bora Bora, I meant a Deluxe Garden Bungalow at the Sofitel Beach Resort in Bora Bora!

I see you've already posted the question on the Tahiti Explorer forums. I'd use their Search function to find older reviews of both places as well as looking at Tripadvisor.

Beware Bora Bora is NOT a beach destination, but lagoon destination - beach near Sofitel ( and Le Maitai) is very very narrow, so if you'll have Beach bungalow then you'll have obviusly some attached to it space, but if you have Sofitel Garden bungalow then you will be roaming with probably ultimately staying at teh pool. I 've been at Sofitel BB Motu, but every day I went to BB, so that's how that it looked.
