Ono-Ono catamaran/ferry service

Hi Thorn Tree folks and Happy New Year!

Silly me - I posted this message to the generic Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea branch rather than Tahiti itself. So I'll try again...

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Tahiti Ono-Ono catamaran/ferry (not sure exactly what kind of boat it is) is still running in Tahiti? The Lonely Planet website says it does, and I've seen references to it elsewhere, but I heard a rumour it's not been in service for three years.

Any information would be much appreciated.

Hi Suzie,

Unfortunately, the Ono Ono ferry is no longer in service. You would need to take the Arameti 5 or Moorea Express ferry from Papeete to the Vaiare ferry dock on Moorea. Here is a link to schedule and fare information:
