| tanallover9905:02 UTC21 May 2007 | FP is the first part of our 5 1/2 month trip, starting 9/19. One month in FP followed by 2 1/2 months in OZ and 2 months in NZ.
Since we're travelling so long, we won't be staying in the fanciest resorts and with both of us in our early 60's, we don't need the honeymoon suite anymore :-) After reading as much as I could here and elsewhere, these are the places we'll be staying:
9/19-23 MOOREA FARE MITI 9/24-26 Pension Mauarii Huahine 9/27-28 Chez Guynette Huahine 9/29-10/2 Sunset Beach Motel Raiatea 10/3-7 Chez Nono Bora Bora 10/8-11 Tikehau Village Tikehau 10/12-15 Raimiti Fakarava 10/16-17 Tahiti Not sure where yet.
Thanks to everyone at this site and tahiti-explorer.com who helped with all the useful information. If anyone is planning to stay at the same locations, give us a shout.

| newfie4305:50 UTC21 May 2007 | Sounds like a great itinerary. We did something similar last year but with only 2 weeks did not get to the atolls. You might want to look at Relais Fenua on Tahiti for a place to stay. It is about 20 minutes from the airport in a residential area and near one of the better beaches. The owner arranged car rental for us and we spent a day driving around the island. We also stayed at the Sunset Beach Motel on Raiatea and were quite pleased with our choice. FP will be a great way to start your trip. Would love to hear feedback from you when you return.

| ejpiii07:04 UTC24 May 2007 | If you want to splurge a bit in Tahiti, see if the Sofitel on Maeva beach has a special that works for you. Really nice place with a heartbreaking view of Moorea, great people.

| auwe17:23 UTC12 Jun 2007 | Hi,
We might run in to you! We booked raimiti 4 nights, but we leave on the 12th october at 14:40hrs. We also booked Fare suisse for Tahiti. This our itinery (can still chanche a bit):
Arrival 03:50am 29 september 3 nights Papeete (fare suisse) 4 nights Rangiroa (pension Bounty) 3 nights Fakarava (havaiki pension) diving the north pass 4 nights Fakarava (Raimiti) diving the south pass 4 nights Moorea (Linareva) 5 nights Nuku Hiva (still thinking about where to stay, pearl lodge is to expensive) 1 night Tahiti (Fare suissi or Sofitel)
We were considering Bora Bora, but the extra cost for the flight is to high! We preferred to go to Nuku Hiva instead.
Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

| tanallover9923:03 UTC12 Jun 2007 | Hi Auwe:
We are arriving on the same flight that you are leaving on. We arrive Oct 12 to Fakarava at 14:20. So we might pass you at the gate.
We are using the Air Tahiti pass so all the Leeward and Windward Islands, and the Tuamotus are included in the pass.
I don't know anything about Nuku Hiva. We are just snorkelers.
Have a great trip.
