Recent Accomodation Reviews

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tahiti & French Polynesia

Anyone have some recent budget accomodation reviews or great finds or deals at the higher end resorts that they want to share? We're heading for a 2 week diving holiday in November.

And you are going where? Or are you going diving and will decide where based on input here?

Oh- just saw that there is now a specific area listed to the right of these posts, in the name area. How odd. So, I know nothing about French Polynesia, so I can be of no assistance whatsoever. But I did learn something so thank you and have a wonderful time!

That is, to the left of the posts.

We were on Tahiti last August and stayed at Relais Fenua, a small place about 20 minutes outside Papeete. It was a few minutes walk to a beach area, near a bus stop, had a small kitchenette and small pool. We arranged transport from the airport and the manager was most helpful with arranging car rental. We chose it as it offered air conditioning - the price was somewhere around 10,000CPF a night. We stayed at the Novotel Bora Bora Beach Hotel and got a rate of !30Euros a night. This was our splurge for our anniversary. We got this rate from their website but booked about 10 months in advance. We loved our stay here. Hope this helps!

I have found the great price for Tahiti, it just start from $50 for 3 star hotel. You can check it out from this price. Tahiti Hotels , I would love to get there. Please advise me if you have been there and share the experience about that resort. I would try it , probably next year.

The prices that they show on the first page (the one that you linked to) are per person, based on double occupancy. When you click through you see that the real price for a room at the Tahiti Airport Motel is 97 Euros for the room not 36 Euros.

The Tahiti Airport Motel is not a resort. It's a motel across the road from the airport.

Try Tahitiguide and The Tahiti Traveler (no relation to the spammy TT poster of the same name) for accomodation information for French Polynesia.

Oops, I forgot that the Tahiti Airport Motel has dormitory beds that go for around 4000 cfp which would be around 36 Euros. But 97 Euros sounds right for a regular room.
