Stopover in Tahiti

flying from sydney to lax via tahiti next july, however not sure how long i should stopover - thinking 2 or 3 days. any recommendations on what to do for this period of time?

A 3 day stop over would allow you to take the boat over to Moorea, which would be preferable to staying on Tahiti only. Having spent 3 nights on Tahiti I felt it was not as inviting as the other islands, although once outside Papeete there was a lot more to see. July/Aug is a popular time in Tahiti so booking accommodation in advance is recommended.

I recomend 4 days on Tahiti. That way you are able to take a one day trip to Moorea ( visiting the lagoon and motus, shark and rayfeeding or visiting the Tiki Village ) and one day to take an around the island trip of Tahiti.
