Student on a budget

Hi,

I'm a 22 year old student coming on a holiday to French Polynesia for a week from December 1st. I want to visit Moorea and possibly Borabora. I know it's expensive, especially for someone on a budget. How much is camping on these islands and are they common? How much should I expect to spend per day?

Furthermore, will anyone be in French Polynesia during this time and like to join me? :)

I think camping on those islands costs ca 15 Euros per night and is far from common. There are definitely campgrounds on Moorea though, and I think at least a few places on BB allow it, too.

You might want to consider camping on Moorea rather than on Bora Bora. Do a search for "Nelson Camping" -- reasonable prices, great location on a white sandy beach with sunset views and walking distance to stores. You can take the ferry (30 minute ride) from Tahiti to Moorea for about $15 USD, while the airfare from Tahiti to Bora Bora will set you back about $500+ for one person round trip -- just not worth it on a budget...
