Where to Eat - Budget-ish Options?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tahiti & French Polynesia
Heya, So I'll be staying in Moorea Hilton for 5 days and I'm looking for semi-afforable dinner options. We will rent a car only for 1 day! 1- Lilikoi - within walking distance. Problem is.. I read online it's only open for lunch. But in the brochure my agent gave me it says they are open for dinner on FRIDAY's only. No idea if that's true 2- Alo Pizza - during my car rental... problem is - the car rental places close at 4:30PM and DInner is from 5-9PM. I have NO idea if the car companies allow me to return a car after closing time (in the US/Canada you can return a car after closing time and place the keys in a drop box). I think they deliver - but that may cost an extra $$, plus I hear Hilton doesn't carry restaurant menus... so that makes delivery not so easy 3- Moorea Beach Cafe/Rudy - Free pick-up... meaning I have to reserve prior to going there through their online form and hope for the best... probably costlier than the first 2 options. Someone told me a three course meal for 2 without alcohol is $100... not so sure considering the Moorea Beach Cafe's entrys are around $34-40+/person - so if you multiply that by two and add an appetizer/dessert.. you're way over 4- Painapo Beach - I'm more interested in the RUMORED Sunday Dinner buffet... problem is, I have no idea if they have free pickup, their website doesn't work (painapo.com) and I can't find out if the Sunday dinner buffet is a real thing or not (last post on TA is from 2011). 5- Toatea Crepes - good news is... it's at the Hilton where I'm staying. But it's in a resort so I have NO idea how expensive it is. Any thoughts?? 5- OTHERS??? Any advice/help is appreciated!
