I want to move to Tahiti but I have heard that it is impossible to get a work permit as an American citizen. Does anybody know if this is true, or if you can get around it by living somewhere else, like France itself? Thanks alot!

Yep you heard right. Only way you can hang down there more than 6 months is have a large $$ deposit in a FP bank or marry a local................

My sis and husband used to do 6 months and then Cook islands 6 months, and then back, etc.
