1. Hardly any other tourists 2. Friendly people 3. Good infrastructure (everything has recovered from the "troubles", I understand) 4. Beautiful beaches and islands once you get away from Tongatapu/Nuku'alofa. 5. Not too hard to get around. 6. Not too expensive.

Yes people are friendly but infrastructure is shaky, transport is chaotic and food outside of tourist tracks is often poor.
I like the place but to my mind it's no place for neophyte travelers.

I don't see Tonga as ideal for a "South Pacific Experience" holiday spot.
However, I have traveled a lot, and "lived" in many cultures. I just felt very comfortable in Tonga.
