| babygiraffe12:07 UTC30 Oct 2011 | Hi all! I'm translating a book that quotes a Tongan folk tale about Sinilau and the clam who gives birth to two sons. The boys are named "Fatai-going-under-sandalwood" and "Myrtle twined at random in the fatai". Their mother's name (the clam turns into a woman) is "Hina at home in the river". Can anyone please tell me what "Fatai" means, if anything, OR give me the phonetic Tongan pronunciations of the names in the tale? Or refer me to someone who can? Many thanks!
