| malou_andersen9115:39 UTC14 Nov 2016 | Dear all,
One of my biggest dreams is to go to Tonga, and possible swim with the humpbacks ;) I am looking at options to get to Tonga, and as far as flights go, it is very expensive. How have people previously done backpacking to get there? Is there ferrys going between the islands? And is it possible to find budget accommodation on the island, whilst there?
Thanks all for the help!

Check Fiji Airways, Virgin Australia and maybe Air New Zealand for relatively low fares, but sure, the South Pacific is not a cheap part of the World to reach. Once in Tonga, you can reach most inhabited islands by boat. For accommodation, Tonga is one of the cheapest countries in the Pacific, though SE Asia it is not.

Though, I am finding it hard to find anything that sells only the whale swim seperately. When searching I only find packages of whaleswim and accommodation, and this is in a whole other price range.. Do you know if it is possible to book this individually? Or you have to do the package deals..
