Just back from Tonga, stayed four nights at Keleti Beach, two at the beginning of the trip and two at the end. Keleti is an excellent place to stay. It is located on a cliff face overlooking a spectacular vista of crashing surf and wonderful reef formations. There were pods of whales working offshore every day, great breakfast entertainment. The beaches in front of Keleti are sheltered from the surf by the reef, the water is crystal clear. Apart from the sound of the sea, Keleti is very quiet, no traffic noise and no roosters. The fales are clean and comfortable with constant hot water (rare in Tonga), a fridge and tea/coffee making. Each fale has a veranda with sea views. It is a $15 - $20 taxi trip into town, $2 on Keleti’s bus; the resort offers free airport transfers. I can’t understand why anyone would stay in Nuku’alofa when Keleti is so accessible and so beautiful. The food prepared at the resort is of good quality, fresh and with generous portions. The coffee is very good. The view from the restaurant is truly spectacular. What makes Keleti a special place is the wonderful attitude of the staff who work there. The staff all seem to belong to one big family, their happiness and sense of fun is infectious. They are always laughing, singing, dancing and playing games with each other. This is true Polynesian friendliness. We toured the island for a day and visited many of the other accommodation options, none seem to equal Keleti. We also did a trip to Ha'apai, Chatham Airways was reliable. We stayed at Sandy Beach Resort, beautiful beach, well appointed fales but bring your own food if you can, Ha'apai is isolated without regular frieght services
Is this an advertisement? I'm sure I saw something similar on TripAdvisor recently. | 1

yes it's an ad. I always recommend Nerima lodge for a cheap and cheerful stay. | 3
Aside from their correct comment about Chatham Airways, I'd be suspicious of this post. | 4
Yeah but Nerima Lodge! | 5
Our family stayed a couple of nights at Keleti Int Resort at the beginning of october. We found it to be a lovely place to stay. Our rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the location was great compared to the noisy places we have stayed in at Nukualofa. We were particularly grateful to Pina, one of the family running Keleti, who acted as our personal taxi service, especially on Sunday when other transport is hard to find. We ate dinner in their restaurant, with lovely views over the coast. The food was great too. We were surprised by the quality of the Resort given the very reasonable prices they charge for food and lodgings. If this sounds like an advertisement for Keleti I make no apologies, we really enjoyed our stay there and if we stay on Tongatapu again they will be our first choice. | 6
i live in tonga and go to keleti beach and its resort often. in my view it is being well run at present and the postings singing its praises are fairly accurate, though one is particularly effusive. i would recommend Keleti Beach resort to my friends. I believe the room rates present good value (for Tonga) as well. | 7
