Longer term accomodation in Nukualofa

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tonga

We will be coming to Nukualofa soon and would like some accomodation with cooking facilities rather than a regular hotel room. Can anyone advise if this is available, either a motel-type set up or a small house/flat for rent short term.

In Samoa there were quite a few families with a 'granny flat' separate form their main familiy house that they could rent on a monthly basis. Something similar would be ideal.

Thanks

it's not exactly an insider tip but Toni's guesthouse is really cheap and really nice and you will very likely get an even better rate if you stay longer.
The only backdraw is that it's a bit out of the city centre but if you are there for longer you might have your transport anywys?

I loved the green and (comparatively) calm setting with the big garden. I stayed in the blue house which was the slightly more expensive one (green house is really, really cheap but not nearly as nice) and it had a hughe living room and kitchen, basic but nice and clean room and common bathroom. Couldn't think of a better place, just loved it.
