Probably the most important thing to remember when living in an Pacific Islands country, and Tonga in particular, is that the people are very religious and conservative. It is wise to respect local dress customs if you want the respect of the local people.

Join the Golf Club, the Fishing Club, and the Royal Nuku'alofa Club. This will introduce you to a lot of the locals.

The major mobile phone company is Digicel

Tongans are a very friendly bunch, but show a bit of respect and you will get on.
