RE: Getting from Tonga to Samoa

Hi, Can anyone recommend a way to get from Tonga to Samoa, air, ferry, swimming, etc (joking about the last one).

I can only find flights going via Auckland and that's a bit expensive and timely.

You wll find airlines that fly in the region here in the FAQs. There are no direct fights between Tonga and Samoa. Look at the sites for the airlines which service both countries. You will probably need to go via Fiji or Auckland.

Air travel is the only scheduled way of traveling between Tonga and Samoa, but there are no direct flights anymore. Going through Auckland provides daily opportunities, with Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia. There is Air Pacific too, with some weekly flights between Nukualofa and Nadi/Fiji and from there to Apia. On Saturdays, there is an evening flight from Tonga to Nadi with a good connection to Apia later on that night. This might be the fastest connection overall, with no overnight stay needed as well.
