Tonga Itinerary

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tonga

Hi everyone

My husband and I will be travelling to Tonga in Sept with our 1 year old baby. We will be there for 5 full days (arrive at night, then spend 5 days and leave the next morning). We mainly want to spend some time on a nice beach and sightsee/see a bit of the way of life, culture etc. Given the short time we were thinking of spending it all on Tongatapu and perhaps doing a day trip or two to the nearby offshore islands - this also avoids changing accommodation - which can be a hassle with baby gear etc.

Does this seem a good plan? - are there other options we should consider? We can probably spend Tongan $100-200 on accommodation, and we may hire a rental car.

I'm not sure what Fafa Island (see my avatar) want per night now, but that is very relaxing.
