Tonga Royal Wedding

So it looks like there's a royal wedding on thursday... we get into Nuku'alofa tomorrow and will be there for a few days, any chance we'll see any of the procession on Thursday?

THE official engagement of Hon. Titilupe Fanetupouvava'u Tuita and Siaosi Kiu Tau-ki-Vailahi Kaho will be celebrated on Saturday, April 28, with a church service and a Royal Feast. The young couple are to be married next week.

Hon, Fanetupouvava'u is the second eldest daughter of HRH Princess Salote Mafile'o Pilolevu Tuita and Noble Tuita. Siaosi Kiu Kaho is the eldest son of Noble Tu'ivakano and Siosi Robyn Kaho.

A church service at the Fasi mo e Afi Free Wesleyan Church at 5 pm on Saturday will be followed by a Royal Feast at the Janfull International Dateline Hotel attended by HM King George V and members of the Tongan Royal family.

The wedding program will continue to Monday, April 30 where the "Ma'u Tohi" ceremony, or the issuing of the couple's marriage license at 10:00 am.

The big day of the Royal Wedding will be held on May 3 with a service at the Free Church of Tonga, Nuku'alofa starting at 10:00 am to be followed by a wedding reception at the International Dateline Hotel.

On May 6 the couple will be blessed on their "first Sunday" at the Free Church of Tonga, Nukunuku, at 10:00 am.

Hon Fanetupouvava'u is currently an Assistant Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, while Kiu is a 2nd Lieutenant at the Tonga Defence Service, Nuku'alofa.

They'll need to spend some time fixing up that old Free Church-last I was it needed work badly, busted windows general grime abounded.
