| harry_mudd11:21 UTC20 Mar 2007 | I thought things were going smoothly?
I just received a DFAT warning.
Are they just being over cautious again?

I must be because of upcoming Court appearances for some prominent people who have been charged with Sedition.
The place is calm though and locals I talked to-educated/connected people-said it was unlikely the riots would be repeated.

| amaile14:32 UTC21 Mar 2007 | Things are very calm here, and hardly anyone is listening to pro-demoLITION people. Pro-demoLITION people seem to be using overseas media for self-justification purposes. However, there are still some hard-core pro-demoLITION supporters, and that's why the Emergency Powers Act was extended again for another month. Majority of us support that government decision.
Many people, schools, churches and groups became quite conservative after the riot. I presume that people would try to stop any repetition of the last year's violence.
Tonga Broadcasting Comission's web-site said that Nuku'alofa's Talamahu market may re-open next week. Handicraft section was re-opened a few weeks ago, but vegetable section hasn't been allowed back yet. I would be so happy when vegies come back to Talamahu.
We just did a wedding ceremony today in Nuku'alofa with no problem at all.

| euglena23:25 UTC21 Mar 2007 | Hopes for false alarm, Pago. Nothing else. Sorry if I somehow insulted you.
