Vava'u accommodation

Hi we are going to Tonga at the start of June this year and are looking for accommodation around $100-150 NZ per night. Any suggestions? we like the look of the Bayview Tonga and Island Explorer accommodation but note there are no threads about these two places. Has anyone stayed there before and can offer some advice. Also how does it compare to somewhere like Lucky's which also looks very nice.

I haven't stayed at either one but have seen the buildings-gorgeous views but a ways out of town-tough without a car.

Lucky's doesn't have quite the views but has something that approximates a beach and Kurt could rent you a scooter since they're even further from town-I mean he rents scooters as well.

The reason I mention town is because that's the only real place to buy food although Kurts/Lucky does do meals as you know.

We stayed at Harbourview hotel, which is a bit out of town and no longer serves food on the premises but taxis are plentiful and easy to book. Adds to the adventure. Also, a lot of the places in the harbour are exposed to sea lice. No such problem at Harbourview.Across the road and down the steps is a great little swimming hole.
Owners are NZ couple, husband runs the chemist and they are just a lovely, friendly couple . Extremely helpful.

Cost was approx 150T a night for a two bedroom and they also provided a cot for our youngest.
Nice, clean accomodation.
