Whats the weather like in April?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Tonga

Hi All,

Just a quick question - coming to Tonga in April for 3 weeks - whats the weather like this time of year - i assume its still the end of the rainy season - so packing wet gear along with the usual stuff for 30 degree heat?

Anyadvice?

Thanks

It's really hard to say, aliallan. This year, the summer in Tonga is so nice and cool, except for yesterday (whew! it was humid). It's been below 30 degrees throughout the time, and I haven't had my fan on when I sleep. Actually, about a week ago, it was only 17 degrees early in the morning.

However, we may have a delayed summer in Feb. or March, or even April. Or we may start to have cooler whether in April. But I suspect that it wouldn't be that hot.

Rain in Tonga. Sometimes, it rains for days, any time of the year. I would rather say, Nov-March, hot & humid, June-Oct. cool and drier. I don't think there is a "Rainy Season" in Tonga.

Sorry, I may not have been much help to you.

Cheers
