1 month beach Fiji

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

I'm planning on spending 3-4 weeks on Fiji from the end of June to the end of July.

  • Weather: I'm looking for: beaches, sunny + hot weather, and as little rain as possible. Is this a good time?

  • Are there beaches near Suva? Or will I need to travel to other places?

  • How much planning is necessary? Can I just fly there and find a cheapish hotel fairly easily?

Thanks

Yes, it's a good time.

Yes, there are beaches near Suva, but they aren't the sort you'd ever see on a postcard. The Yasawas and Mamanucas offer the most easily accessible nice beaches. The beaches on the mainland are ho-hum. Is there some reason why you're going to Suva?

It's the busier time of year. Depends where exactly you intend to go on how easy it'll be to get good accommodation without booking ahead.
