14 days on budget in FPCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
I´ve made more research since my last topic, but it still quite difficult as I´m on my travel now in South America. Anyway, I found a flight for total of 14 days, which the first day I arrive Pepeete in 23:00, so I'll stay overnight in the airport, and the last day I'm leaving at night.
Thanks again, | ||
I would spend 1 week on Tahiti and 1 week on Bora Bora. Bora Bora is no budget destination, though. | 1
week in Papeete? while everyone say that Moorea is much a nicer place to be at. | 2

Hi, Thanks, | 4 | |
I have just booked my last pension for a trip in May. We're going to Huahine (Pension Maurii - 2nd choice), Bora Bora (Hilton Nui) and Rangiroa (Pension Bounty). I did a ton of research online and books for places to stay. Moorea - take the ferry - WAY cheaper than flying for 15 mins (if that). Plenty of Pensions to stay at - check out Tahiti Tourism for some recomendations. Bora Bora - that's going to take some looking around for "cheap". If you have cards with points or some airline miles or hotel points, you can use points for a hotel stay. We're doing that @ the Hilton Bora Bora Nui - free is always good! Huahine - there's plenty of Pensions within a reasonable cost. My first choice was Pension Tupuna, but one night 100% booked. I think the thing to remember, is this is not a cheap vacation to begin with. Make a budget and stick to it the best you can. Try to find pensions that include free items, like bikes, kayaks, breakfast, etc. These will cut costs in good ways! I've done all my bookings via email or online reservations. I haven't had any problems with that method, but guess we'll see when we get there! I've also booked the flights on Air Tahiti, not using a set pass because of the islands we've chosen. You can 'test' the price online w/ Air Tahiti by selecting the islands individually vs using the pass. Just switching our islands of visit day saved us over $200. Hope this helped! Beth | 5
