3 weeks to travel and dive - need some advice

I've been working my tail off the past 7 years and just got approved for a 3 month sabbatical, so ready to get after it!

Thinking between the Maldives or Palau in mid November to mid December. I'm very active, wouldn't mind some nightlife, but want a very chill trip.

Traveling solo, 35 yr old male, and looking for a great cultural experience and exotic feel.

Would you recommend one area over another?...is 3 weeks too much time in one of these areas, recommend another stop somewhere nearby?

Any thoughts from those who know these areas greatly appreciated!

You might fond more variety over that time frame in a bigger country like Solomon Islands, than you would in Palau.

Vanuatu might be worth a look - definitely up there in the culture and exotic area with the possibility of some night life in Pt. Villa. You would have time to explore some of the other islands such as Tanna with its volcano and Santo with nice beaches. I can't compare with the Maldives as have not yet had that pleasure!
